The 68-year-old man of Barrie, collected $100,000 in 50 dollar notes and hid it in an old television set about 30 years ago.

He planned to give the money to his children after he passed away. However, the man, who was not identified, forgot about the cash.

One day, he gave the television away to a friend, who had no clue that inside was $100,000 in cash. The friend used the television for a while before throwing it into the garbage along with the cash.

The television made its way to the Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP) recycling plant, where workers dismantled it.

The workers called police after noticing a large about of cash.

Luckily, the cash was hidden with documents that helped police track down the 68-year-old man. Police went to the man’s home and presented him with their findings.

The old man was extremely happy, and he told police that he completely forgot about his large cash hoard.
