A man jumped off a border bridge shortly after being deported from the United States.

The man was taken to a hospital, where is succumbed to his injuries.

45-year-old Guadalupe Olivas Valencia was upset that he was being deported to Mexico for the third time.

He threatened to commit suicide if he was deported again. Just 30 minutes after he was deported, Valencia acted on his threat and he jumped off a bridge.

He was found a few feet from El Chaparral, the main border crossing point between San Diego, California, and Tijuana, Mexico.

Photos which were uploaded to the Internet, show Valencia
lying next to a plastic bag that was given to him by U.S. officials. The bag contained documents and food.

Family members said that Valencia was a “widowed father who tried to support his three children.”

Olivas had served several stints in U.S. prison on a few occasions.

In 2001, he was convicted for possession of a large amount of marijuana. Valencia was caught at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry near San Diego, with 128 pounds of marijuana concealed in his gas tank.

In 2005, he was stopped in Arizona, for driving a stolen vehicle in tandem with another vehicle. They were headed toward Mexico. Officers found $8,750 in cash under the passenger seat.

After those incidents, he was deported, but he returned to the United States.

On his Facebook page, Valencia wrote that he lived in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico.
