Montgomery County Sheriff's Captain Bryan Carlisle said that the boy had begged his father, 41-year-old Medger Blake, to stop stabbing his mother.

When officers arrived, the boy came outside. He was covered in blood. He was checked out by medics. He did not suffer any injuries.

His mother, 38-year-old Rose Blake, was found dead. Police made contact with the suspect. He was holding a knife and when he moved forward towards the officers, they fatally shot him.

Police said that Blake did not have a criminal record and they have never been called out to the home for domestic violence issues.

The family lived in a nice home in an upscale neighborhood. Neighbors expressed their shock over the incident as the family was well-liked.
