A woman who was looking forward to becoming a mother, is devastated after several out of control people kicked her in the stomach, causing her to miscarry her baby, according to police in India.

Nadia police said that they have arrested five people in connection with the brutal assault against Mayarani Santra.

One of the suspects was identified as Palash Kumar Biswas, who is an elected official of the BJP. Biswas denied the allegations, saying that he knows nothing about the attack.

According to the police investigation, loud music was playing on a microphone, and it disturbed the quiet in the neighborhood.

Shambhu Chandra Das asked for the music to be played quietly, but five people began to beat him. Santra’s brother-in-law tried to intervene and stop the attack on Das.

However, the suspects began beating him as well. Santra then tried to help her brother-in-law, but the suspects kicked her in the stomach despite being pregnant.

Santra was rushed to the Dhubulia Rural hospital and then to Krishnagar Sadar Hospital, where her unborn baby died as a result of the attack.

Das identified the five suspects and they were arrested.
