(Scroll down for video) A little girl was killed a few moments after a car crashed into her mother during a road incident.

Latoyia Jarmon-Thomas of Texas, was caught in the crosshairs of two cars that were racing each other.

Police said that a dark four-door sedan and a white Pontiac were speeding on West Fuqua St. near Sam Houston Parkway.

Jarmon-Thomas, who police said was an innocent party, was driving her Honda Accord at 2:00 a.m., when she was hit by the speeding Pontiac.

Her 8-year-old daughter, De'Maree Atkins, was sleeping in the back seat of the car and was not injured during the accident.

However, a woman who was in the sedan, rolled down the window and shot Jarmon-Thomas’ vehicle, hitting her 8-year-old daughter.

The child was rushed to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the white Pontiac abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled.

Texas Governor Greg Abbot's office is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer.

The friend of Jarmon-Thomas, set up a GoFundMe page to help the family in this difficult time. She had a goal $15,000 but she already collected $19,000.
