(Scroll down for video) A transgender boy was devastated after school officials prohibited him from wearing a boy’s uniform, saying that he was just an attention seeker, according to court documents in the United Kingdom.

The 16-year-old boy, who was identified only as Aidan, filed the lawsuit against the Hereford Cathedral School in Hereford.

The boy alleges that the school violated the 2010 Equality Act, by preventing to live as a boy just because he was born a girl.

The boy’s doctor supported the child’s gender change, but school officials told that it was just a phase. Officials also accused him of just seeking attention, and they did not take his request of wearing a boy’s uniform seriously.

The transgender child felt that the school considered him to be a freak who can contaminate other students. The boy’s mother had no choice but to take him out of the school.
