Man crashes into vehicle before fatally shooting a mother when driver asked for his insurance information

(Scroll down for video) A family was left grieving the loss of a mother who was killed in front of her husband and children.

Officers in Texas, said that the crime began at 9:00 p.m., with a carjacking involving another couple in Houston.

The suspects stole the couple’s gray Jeep Commander and drove off.

While fleeing from the scene, the suspect crashed into a vehicle that was driven by Edward Scott. His wife, 29-year-old Jessica Lynn Mills, was in the front passenger seat, and their
two children, a 4-month-old and a 4-year-old, were in the back seat.

The suspect did not stop after the crash so Scott followed him to get his license plate number.

The suspects pulled into a restaurant parking lot after driving a short distance. When Scott got out of his vehicle to exchange insurance information, someone from the Jeep shot his wife and then fled.

The mother died of her injuries.

Police described the suspect as a black man between the ages of 16 and 20 years old. The Jeep had the Texas license plate number CN5X057. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Scott said that his feels lost without his wife. They have been together for 10 years and have known each other since middle school.
