A husband was left horrified after his wife was burned alive.

The horrific incident began after 24-year-old Rachna Sisodia of India, was brought into the hospital with fever, abdominal pain and palpitation at 8:00 a.m.

Doctors at the Sharda hospital in Greater Noida treated her, but two days later, they declared her dead.

The cause of death according to doctors was “cardiorespiratory arrest and acute respiratory distress syndrome.”

Her husband, Devesh Chaudhary, 23, took possession of the body and drove with some of his friends to a funeral pyre to cremate her.

During the cremation, someone claimed that the woman was still alive and dragged her from the funeral pyre. By that time, she had suffered burns to 70 percent of her body.

However, she showed no signs of life. The husband decided to not continue the cremation and the body was handed over for an autopsy.

A post-mortem examination found charred particles in her windpipe and lungs, proving that she was alive as the particles would not have been there unless she was breathing.

Police were called to investigate the incident.
