(Scroll down for video) A construction worker flew into a rage when a driver tossed orange traffic cones that were placed on the road, according to police in Washington D.C.
Police have arrested 36-year-old Paul Kenneth Hagans, after being accused of killing 41-year-old Desmond of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Hagans has been charged with one count of aggravated assault.
The suspect is facing a murder charge after an autopsy showed that Joseph died as a result of the punch.
According to the police investigation, Joseph came to live in the United States after being born and raised in the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.
Joseph tried to enter the driveway of a home near Rhode Island Avenue and Second Street, when he noticed that orange traffic cones were blocking his way.
Joseph got out of his vehicle and began tossing the orange traffic cones to the side. Hagans, who was part of a crew doing construction in the area, confronted Joseph, and an altercation broke out.
Hagans then punched Joseph in the face, causing the driver to fall down to the ground. Police were called after Joseph became unconscious.
Joseph was rushed to the hospital, where he died the following day. The victim’s wife, Lisa C. Joseph, 48, called the incident horrific and said that this did not have to happen.
