(Scroll down for video) A pilot made the decision to carry out an emergency landing after an elderly passenger became unruly on board the aircraft following a dispute about the price of a blanket.

The incident unfolded on a flight from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Honolulu, Hawaii, on Wednesday.

After the Hawaiian Airlines flight #7 took off from Las Vegas, the 66-year-old man felt cold and asked a flight attendant for a blanket.

When he was told that there was a $12 fee for a blanket, the man became agitated.

The elderly man then demanded to talk with corporate headquarters as he believed he should not be charged because the plane was very cold.

He then said that he would like to take someone behind the woodshed for this.

After hearing the comment, the pilot decided that it was not safe to continue the flight with the unruly passenger. The pilot landed the plane at the Los Angeles International Airport, at around 10:30 a.m.

The pilot had to dump $12,000 worth of fuel before landing.

The FBI and police escorted the man off the plane. He was questioned and released without any charges. The plane left to Honolulu without him.

The man caught another flight to Honolulu.
