A priest who boasted about his super powers, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition after being shot by his followers, according to police in Ghana.

Sekyedumase Newtown police said that they have launched an investigation after Pastor Nana Tolofasito, was shot at church during a prayer service.

Tolofasito, who is also known as Akwasi Addai, recently began telling his followers that he acquired special powers that block bullets from penetrating his body.

This week, he urged his followers to test his super natural powers by using a gun to shoot him in the chest. At first, nobody wanted to volunteer as the shooter.

Eventually, Tolofasito persuaded one of his followers to pull the trigger of his gun. The member of the church pull the trigger and Tolofasito suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest.

It turned out that Tolofasito had no special powers. Paramedics who arrived at the scene, found the priest in a pool of blood.

Tolofasito was rushed to the Sunyani Hospital, where he is said to be in critical condition.
