A couple was sentenced to death after they were caught violating the law and serving alcohol to foreigners and to residents in Iran.

The couple was not named, but it was revealed that the man holds dual American-Iranian citizenship.

The husband and wife of Tehran, have been sentenced to death by an Iranian court after being found guilty of “providing alcoholic drinks, and encouraged corruption and debauchery by holding mixed parties,” prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi said.

The court heard that the couple attracted “individuals who were active in sexual deviation” to their parties.

Dolatabadi claimed that the couple had also stored over 1,000 gallons of alcoholic beverages in the basement of their home, which is a violation of Iranian law.

According to court records, the woman owns an art gallery in Tehran, where the couple had been “exhibiting and selling obscene images.”

The couple was found guilty of the charges and were sentenced to death.
