(Scroll down for video) Police officers in China, were seen scrambling to pick up cash that was scattered on a road.

People watched as officers tried to gather the cash quickly to minimize disruption in traffic and to avoid car accidents as people wanted to get their hands on the money that the stranger threw in the streets.

Surveillance video footage in Chongqing, shows a young woman taking a handful of cash from her purse and throwing it as she walked across the road in a crosswalk.

Police were called to the scene, and they quickly collected all the cash. When officers counted, they had 16,369 yuan ($2,374) in total.

Police then tracked down the woman, who they described as having long black hair, wearing a leather jacket and short, and they returned all of the money to her.

When she was asked why she threw her money away, the woman said that she was in a “bad mood” at the time.

After seeing the video on social media, one person wrote: “I really want to be there for her when she is in a bad mood.”

Another wrote: “I am in a bad mood after seeing this. I don’t even have 16,000 yuan in my savings.”
