(Scroll down for video) Home Depot shoppers were surprised to find a dog suffering from a drug overdose while waiting in its owners’ truck that was in the parking lot, according to police in Texas.

The Carrollton Texas Police Department gave many thanks to Dr. Stacie Fowler and the staff at North Texas Emergency Pet Clinic, for nursing this K-9 back to health.

A-shift patrol officers found the puppy, suffering from a drug overdose on Saturday.

The dog was left in the floorboard of the truck in the Home Depot parking lot while its owners were busy inside switching price tags in the store in order to commit fraud.

The dog’s owners, Thomas Romero, 46, and Nina Crawford, 38, were arrested for heroin possession and for fraudulent destruction, removal, or concealment of writing.

The puppy is on way to full recovery from opiate overdose, and is currently in the care of The City of Carrollton Animal Adoption Center.
