Animal rights activists are praising a mother who turned her daughter over to police for abusing an animal.

The teenager of Georgia, was arrested for hitting the dog with a frying pan as punishment for urinating on the floor.

19-year-old Alyssa Renae Duvall was charged with animal cruelty after Gordon County officers watched a 16-second video of the disturbing incident.

The shocking 16-second video of the incident that was posted on social media, shows Duvall hitting the dog in the face before beating it with a frying pan.

The dog bit Duvall’s mother when she tried to save it from her angry daughter. The mother called police and told officers that Duvall was punishing the dog after it urinated on the floor.

Officers who went to the house said that they did not see any visible injuries on the dog. Thankfully, someone in the home decided to record her actions as evidence of the abuse.

Duvall was later released after posting $1,000 bail. The dog is now in the custody of Gordon County Animal Services.
