Two teenage girls were on their way to the United States from Guatemala, to reunite with their mother, who lives in the United States for the past 12 years.

At some point, after crossing the border on foot from Mexico, the girls got lost, and flagged down an officer near Texas.

The sisters, who were 18 and 16 years-old at the time, said that they were taken into a closet by the officer who searched them.

They claim that the border patrol officer ordered them to remove their clothes for a security check.

The older sister said that as soon as she removed her bra, the officer fondled her breasts. He then ordered her to remove her pants.

When she refused, the officer allegedly forcefully removed it and touched her private parts. The officer then allegedly turned his attention the younger girl and molested her.

The girls told another officer at the location, and an investigation was launched and the girls were interviewed. However, no criminal charges were filed in the case.

When the sisters were finally released, they went to live with their mother in Fresno, California.

Now, lawyers for the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California, filed lawsuits against the Department of Homeland Security on behalf of the sisters. They are seeking $1.5 million in damages.
