A man flew into a jealous rage after learning that his boyfriend found a new lover, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Now, the jealous former partner who stabbed the man to death in Harpurhey, has been jailed.

31-year-old Ryan Donnellan of Butler Court, Gunson Street, was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 25 years for murder at the Manchester Crown Court.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to Carslake Road, Harpurhey, to reports of a stabbing. Officers attended and discovered 30-year-old Steven Chadwick, with stab wounds to his stomach, legs and arm.

He was taken to a hospital, but sadly, he died four days later.

According to the police investigation, Donnellan had been to the home of his former partner for a pre-arranged meeting.

Having learned that his ex-partner had begun a friendship with Steven Chadwick, Donnellan demanded to speak to Steven face to face.

When Chadwick arrived, Donnellan who had armed himself with a knife, approached him in the street, and stabbed him several times in the abdomen, legs and arm.

“Donnellan could not stand the thought that his ex-partner had moved on so he took the weapon from the kitchen, arranged to meet Steven outside the house, before taking his life in a jealous rage,” Senior Investigating Officer Duncan Thorpe said.

“Steven was a loving son, a caring brother and a fantastic uncle to his nieces, nephews and great niece. We will miss him with all our hearts and he will never be forgotten by all who knew and loved him,” the family said in a statement.
