Police in Union City, California, released a video, showing the woman backing out of her parking space at a Walmart store and hitting the family.

She kept driving, sending the family running for cover. The driver then hit a shopping cart, causing a 3-year-old child to fall to the ground.

The child’s mother managed to grab her and get out of harm’s way. After the photo and video of the incident went viral, people called police with tips.

Police received tips, identifying the woman as 23-year-old Jessica Malicoat.

Sergeant Steven Mendez said that during the incident, the
victims saw the driver yelling and screaming inside her car, and banging the steering wheel in anger.

After her arrest, Malicoat told police that she was angry because Walmart did not allow her to return some batteries.

Malicoat was booked into Santa Rita Jail, where she faces five counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
