A brother and sister tragically lost their lives while they were trying to scatter their parents’ ashes at the edge of a cliff, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Twins Muriel and Bernard Burgess, both 59, of Elton, walked to the edge of the Langdon Cliffs.

Something happened and they both plunged to their deaths.

Their bodies were only discovered after a witness saw another man jumping to his death at the edge of the cliff. The witness called police to report that Scott Enion, 45, of Manchester, jumped off the cliff.

Police and the coastguard responded to the scene, where they found Enion at the bottom of the cliff. They also discovered the Burgess twins nearby.

Next to the twins’ bodies were two urns containing the ashes of Muriel Snr and Bernard Snr. A coroner ruled the death of Enion a suicide.
