(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested after bringing another woman into the United States illegally, and using her as a slave.

Police in Florida, were called by a church member, who saw a woman with bruises, and suspected that she was being abused.

Police rescued the woman. During their investigation, Detectives learned that 47-year-old Esthela Clark, paid smugglers over $3,000 to bring the 26-year-old woman into the United States.

The 26-year-old mother of one child and Clark, are both from Guadalajara, Mexico.

Clark, who has two grown children, offered the victim $3,000 to be a surrogate for her. The woman agreed.

Clark insisted that the woman come to the United States, so she can be under a doctor’s care during the pregnancy.

When the woman arrived to Jacksonville, Florida, Clark and her boyfriend attempted to get the woman pregnant using a syringe and his semen.

When she failed to conceive, Clark began abusing her. The woman was forced to have sex with strangers and collect their condoms.

Clark then used a syringe to insert the semen into the victim, but she did not become pregnant.

Clark began severely abusing the victim. She used tactics that included sleeping on the floor, being denied food for long periods of time, resulting in a 65-pound weight loss, as Clark claimed that she was too fat to become pregnant.

Clark kept her as a slave in an apartment and told her that she would hurt her family if she tried to escape. She also tried to force the victim’s family to pay for the smuggler, plus interest.

The victim was forced to work and Clark kept the earnings. Clark also forced the victim to lie in bleach and she hit her with a metal stick.

In a plea deal with prosecutors, Clark pleaded guilty to forced labor. She faces up to 20 years behind bars and/or deportation if it is proven she entered the country illegally.

Clark is being held without bail as the judge deemed her a flight risk.
