(Scroll down for video) A restaurant in Massachusetts, was shut down after police found a large stash of drugs behind the checkout counter, according to police.
The Boston Police Department said that at about 1:30 p.m. on Monday, members of the District A-1 (Downtown) Neighborhood Drug Control Unit, in collaboration with the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), concluded an extensive drug investigation that culminated in the execution of several search warrants in the area of D’Rafa Restaurant at 156 Bunker Hill Street in Charlestown.
As a result of the search warrants, officers seized several types of drugs from the restaurant, including one half kilogram of Fentanyl, twenty nine plastic bags of cocaine/crack cocaine, and ten plastic bags of heroin as well as approximately $7,144 in cash.
Officers arrested 46-year-old Rafael Pimental, 28-year-old Juan Guerrero-Torres, 60-year-old Matea Sanchez, 23-year-old Rosselys Pimental-Melo, and 40-year-old Ada Mejia-Mejia, all of Charlestown.
They were charged with trafficking class A drugs (heroin), trafficking class B drugs (fentanyl), and trafficking class B drugs (cocaine).
The Inspectional Services Department responded to the scene, and immediately shut down operations at the restaurant due to the imminent health hazard.
