A new mother sparked outrage after being seen sipping wine and breastfeeding her baby at a bar in the United Kingdom.

49-year-old Sheldon Sparks of Bristol, saw the 30-year-old mother drinking wine and breastfeeding her 5-week-old baby.

Sparks posted a complaint on Facebook, and aired his grievances with the mother for feeding her child wine instead of milk.

He also said that it was inappropriate for a baby to be at a bar.

The 30-year-old mother, who was not identified, defended her actions, saying that she deserved a couple of glasses of wine to celebrate Mother’s Day.

The woman with her baby were seen at the Cow pub in Bedminster, Bristol, on Sunday.

On Facebook, Sparks wrote: “When is it acceptable to take a five-week old baby to one of the busiest pubs in North Street, then have two large glasses of wine, and then think it is appropriate to flop a breast out and feed it.

“Unfortunately, I really don’t think there would be much milk the child would be receiving, more like 14 percent Pinot Grigio. I may be old fashioned, but do newborn babies really need to be introduced to pubs at such an early age?

“It’s such a shame that parents nowadays think that it’s acceptable to take babies and children to pubs. Maybe they are unaware of green spaces like South Street Playing Fields or Greville Smyth Park even exist.”

Many criticized Sparks for the post, saying that mothers should be able to breastfeed anywhere they choose. They accused Sparks of discriminating against breastfeeding mothers.
