However, she got much more than she bargained for.
The 24-year-old Florida woman who was identified as Bree, said that she began working for Uber two days before the incident.
Bree, who has a full time job as an auditor at a corporation, said that her boyfriend was going to be out of town, so instead of sitting at home alone, she decided to use her spare time to work and earn extra money.
The boyfriend told her that he was flying to New York, to visit his mother who was in the hospital.
Bree said that she spent the night with her boyfriend, and he had all of his suitcases packed and ready to leave. In the morning, the two left the home together.
Her boyfriend “left for the airport” while she left for work. After work, she was asked to pick up a female passenger from the airport.
During the trip, the woman told Bree that she was in town to see her boyfriend. She said that she was very excited to see him as she had not seen him for a while.
When they arrived to the destination, which was at the same apartment complex Bree’s boyfriend lived, they stopped.
As the woman exited, Bree was shocked to see her own boyfriend coming out to greet the woman. Bree, who thought her boyfriend was in New York, got out of the car to confront him.
The man ran away. Bree caught up with him and beat him up. The passenger then attacked Bree and the two began fighting. The cheating boyfriend then separated the two.
Bree left with the woman’s suitcase. She went to the police station, where she filed a report as the woman attacked her first. She then handed the woman’s possessions over to police.
Bree, who is now single, wrote about the incident on social media under the name Msixelaa, and it went viral with the label #UberBae.
Bree said that the female passenger gave her a one star rating on Uber so it might affect her side job.
