A woman was arrested after she accused her lover of raping her to hide her affair from her husband.

27-year-old Karla Karina Alvarez was charged with making a false report to police after she falsely accused her husband’s coworker of raping her.

Police were called to the Laredo Medical Center in Texas, at 7:30 p.m., after Alvarez was found naked, unconscious and intoxicated in the men’s bathroom.

Police said that Alvarez, her husband, who is a doctor, and the other man, all work together at the Medical Center.

After being treated, the woman told paramedics and her husband that she had been raped by their co-worker.

During questioning, the man, who has a girlfriend, showed text messages to police to prove that he and Alvarez had been having an affair for the past six months, authorities said.

According to an affidavit of arrest, Alvarez and the man drank alcohol before using the men’s restroom to have sex. The man said that they did not use the women’s restroom because it had no lock.

Authorities said that after the incident, Alvarez “made it very clear that she did not want her husband to know any of the facts of the case. She wished to sign a complaint withdrawal form and added that she did not wish to press charges,” police said.

When detectives tried getting her side of the story, Alvarez “pleaded the fifth,” but police had enough evidence to prove that she was lying.
