What was supposed to be a fun-filled night ended in tragedy for five young children.

The children of South Dakota, who were between the ages of 6 and 9, got together for a sleepover, but died in a house fire.

Adults who attempted to run into the home to save the children, were injured. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Firefighters were called to the home at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, to put out the house fire.

However, the home was engulfed in flames and firefighters were unable to get inside to save the children.

It took firefighters an hour to an hour-and-a-half to put the fire out. The roof had started to collapse, making it impossible for firefighters to go into the building.

Authorities believe that six children have attended a sleepover and five of those children died in the blaze.

The children have not been named. However, family members posted a photo to GoFundMe named “Wilson-Roden and Tate family.”

The GoFundMe page was set up to pay for the funerals of all of the children. So far, they collected $27,000 of their $35,000 goal.
