Police were called to a shopping center in Texas, after passersby saw a teenager hanging from a pole.

Houston police responded to multiple calls about a man who was duct taped to a yield sign.

Many drivers and witnesses took photos and videos of the incident, and up uploaded them to the Internet.

In one video, 17-year-old Miguel Chavez was seen standing on a chair as two of his friends tied him to the pole. The men then removed the chair and left the teenager hanging.

The video that was uploaded to YouTube by MyHouseIsClean 101, shows people in a car asking Chavez what happened, to which he replied that he “lost a bet.”

When police arrived at the intersection near the shopping center, they saw Chavez duct taped to the pole.

They also saw a man walking towards them with a knife in his hand. Officers ordered the man to drop the knife or else they will use their Taser on him.

Officers soon learned that the man with the knife was actually trying to free the teenager.

Chavez told police that he lost a bet he placed on the Houston Rockets/Golden State Warriors game.

As punishment, he allowed his friends to tape him to the street sign.

Police freed Chavez from the pole and gave him a ride home.

No charges were filed in the incident.
