A young boy committed suicide after believing that the love of his life had died.

Katrina Goss of Marquette, Michigan, said that she walked into her son’s room and found him hanging.

11-year-old Tysen Benz was rushed to a hospital, where he was placed on life support for several weeks before he died.

The mother called on police to investigate his death after she discovered a cruel prank that was played on him by his 13-year-old girlfriend.

Goss said that she had no idea that her son had a cellphone, which he apparently bought behind her back. She also did not know that he was “in love.”

Goss said that she saw the girl, who played the “manipulative” prank on her son, several times, but she did not know the extent of their relationship.

On the day of the incident, the 13-year-old girl made it look like she killed herself. She did so with the help of her friends. The girls used their social media accounts to confirm the death.

The 11-year-old boy was so distraught over his girlfriend’s suicide, that he hanged himself.

After reviewing all the evidence, the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office decided that the girl will be charged with Malicious Use of Telecommunications Services and using a computer to commit a crime.

“I urge families to speak out, reach out and communicate with your children about life’s precious gift and the dangers of the Internet and texting,” Goss said.
