The owner of Stephen Leigh Jewelers, which is located in Quincy, Massachusetts, said that he was surprised to see a negative review from the alleged customer on Yelp.

After doing some research by checking out the other reviews that user made on Yelp, Stephen Blumberg realized that the negative review was posted by an employee of a rival business.

Adam Jacobs, an employee of Toodie’s Fine Jewelry, wrote on Yelp, that he visited Leigh Jewelers to buy a 1.5 diamond engagement ring, and he had a bad experience.

He urged potential customers to shop for jewelry elsewhere.

Blumberg filed a lawsuit against Jacobs, claiming emotional distress. After hearing all the evidence in the case, a jury has ordered Jacobs to pay Blumberg $34,500 for the emotional distress.
