A teenager ended up behind bars after walking into a police station to hand over real money that he thought was fake, according to police in Ohio.

On Wednesday, 19-year-old Jacob Rogowski arrived at the Mayfield Heights Police Department, to report that he was in possession of suspected counterfeit currency and wanted to turn it over to the police.

The drug dealer met with an officer in the parking lot of the station.

He told the officer that earlier in the evening, he had sold marijuana to someone and believed that the customer gave him counterfeit money.

The teenager said that the police were probably already aware that he had the counterfeit bills so he wanted to turn them in.

The officer asked the drug dealer, if he had any counterfeit currency in his car. He said that he didn’t think so, but gave consent to search his vehicle.

Officers didn’t locate any counterfeit currency, but they did find a jar full of marijuana and a digital drug scale. To add insult to injury, none of the currency was counterfeit.

He was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.
