(Scroll down for video) A woman filed a lawsuit against Uber, alleging that the company was negligent by allowing a violent passenger to stab her in the face while sharing a ride with others, according to court documents in Illinois.

25-year-old Jennifer Camacho of Chicago, filed the lawsuit at the Cook County Circuit Court.

She charges Uber with negligence and asks for a judgment of $50,000 for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

According to the allegations made by Camacho, she went out drinking with friends after which she called an UberPool, in order to get home.

UberPool allows strangers to share a car as long as they are going in the same direction. Consumers benefit from a lower cost than taking a taxi.

Camacho sat into the back seat of the car while another woman went into the front. The woman in the front of the car then pulled out a knife, and attacked Camacho.

Camacho suffered stab wounds to the face, and has permanent scars. Camacho claims that Uber does not make any effort to prohibit violent people from using car service.

She also claims that the company does not train drivers how to deal with violent passengers. Uber’s insurance company refused to pay Camacho, claiming that the incident was not an accident.

According to the police investigation, after the alleged assault on Camacho, officers arrived at the scene and arrested 34-year-old Julie Ramer.

Ramer was charged with one count of battery. Camacho filed a lawsuit against Ramer as well. She is charging Ramer with battery and assault.

She was booked into jail, and her bail has been set at $1,500.

Camacho is seeking $100,000 in compensation.
