Father and son shoot each other with fatal results during fight over who should walk dog

(Scroll down for video) A family was left shattered after a father and son shot each other during an argument.

Police in Illinois, said that a young man was killed and his father was seriously injured after they shot each other during an argument over who should walk the dog.

The shooting occurred in the Burnside neighborhood of Chicago, around 8:30 a.m. police said.

“The men, ages 43 and 22, fought over who was going to walk the dog. The two then shot at each other,” police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi wrote on twitter.

Both men suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said. The father and son were taken to the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The 22-year-old son was later pronounced dead, according to Chicago police.

The father is said to be in critical condition. Police announced that they have recovered two guns at the scene.

The father has not yet been charged, but police are guarding him at the hospital as he is wanted for his son’s murder. Both the father and son have criminal histories.
