(Scroll down for video) A man who was driving drunk, chose to wear an appropriate shirt that fit his crime, according to police in Connecticut.

The Connecticut State Police said that on Monday at approximately 1:20 a.m., Troop D Troopers responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on Wilson Road in the Town of Putnam.

Troopers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation, which revealed that the vehicle involved in the accident was traveling east on Wilson Road, when it left the travel lane and struck a stone wall.

Troopers discovered that the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. Also, the registration plates that were on the car belonged to a different vehicle.

Troopers also became suspicious that the operator was under the influence and conducted field sobriety tests in which the accused party did not perform up to standard.

26-year-old Harrison Wootton of #489 Route 197, Woodstock, was arrested without incident and transported back to Troop D.

Wootton was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to have insurance, misuse of plates, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Bail has been set at $500. In his mug shot photo, Wootton can be seen wearing a T-shirt with the slogan “Hold My Beer.”
