(Scroll down for video) A man’s vacation ended badly as a scorpion fell onto his head during his flight home, according to police in Canada.

Calgary police said that they were called to the Calgary International Airport at around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, after the pilot of United Airlines flight 1418 called in an emergency, saying that a passenger has been bitten by a scorpion.

Police officers and EMS personnel boarded the flight and examined 60-year-old Richard Bell. Bell refused treatment as he was feeling fine.

Paramedics did not see any signs of a scorpion bite, but Bell said that he was bitten on the hand. Bell said that he and his wife Linda boarded the United Airlines flight in Houston, Texas, after a nice vacation in Mexico.

While he was eating, the scorpion fell out of the overhead compartment and landed on Bell’s head. Linda noticed it and pushed it off her husband and onto a table.

Bell then picked up the scorpion to get a closer look. That is when he was bitten on the hand. Bell said that it felt like the sting of a wasp.

Another passenger stepped on the scorpion and flushed it down the toilet. Bell said that he is not planning on filing a lawsuit against the airline.

United Airlines did not reach out to Bell.
