The incident unfolded on Wednesday, at the Courtside Family Apartments in Miami.

While he was trapped inside the elevator, Carson was assured that he won’t run out of air to breathe.

Carson ran in the Republican Presidential Primary, but he dropped out and endorsed President Donald Trump, who appointed him as the HUD secretary.

Carson is currently on a national listening tour, to get input from people who rely on affordable and public housing. A spokesperson for the Miami police said that nobody was hurt as a result of the incident.

Carson made light of the incident, saying that as a result of being trapped, he and his wife were able to answer a lot of questions from those residents who were with them in the elevator.

A total of 8 people, including his wife and retired NBA Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning, were stuck in the elevator.
