(Scroll down for video) A young boy and his sister decided to drive to McDonald’s because they were hungry, according to police in Ohio.

East Palestine police said that they have launched an investigation after witnesses saw an 8-year-old boy driving a car with his 4-year-old sister in the front passenger seat.

The incident unfolded on Sunday around 8:00 p.m. The father of the boy was sleeping in bed and the mother of the kids fell asleep on the couch.

The two children then decided to buy food at McDonald’s. The boy took the keys to his father’s car and drove about half a mile to the nearest McDonald’s.

Drivers who saw the boy behind the wheel, told police that the child drove well and observed all the rules of the road, such as the speed limit and stopping at traffic lights.

The boy pulled up at the drive-thru window, where he ordered cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and french fries.

Police officers who arrived at the scene, allowed the children to eat their food and watched them until the grandparents picked them up.

The boy told police that he learned how to drive by watching YouTube videos. No charges of child neglect have been filed as police learned that the children already ate three meals that day.
