(Scroll down for video) Police in Michigan, said that they are investigating an 8-year-old girl in the death of a 1-year-old boy.

The 1-year-old boy was found dead in a Muskegon daycare center, and police said that the 8-year-old girl was the last one to see him alive.

The boy’s mother, Bryanna Reasonover, said that she left her three young children at Keysha Keepers Daycare located in the area of Catherine Avenue and South Getty Street, while she worked an overnight shift.

When she returned to pick up her children at 6:15 a.m., she found her son Korey Brown, lying in the crib unresponsive with bite marks on his face.

The initial investigation revealed that there were adults in the home, but the children were left unsupervised for an unknown period of time, as the adults may have been sleeping on another floor, according to Muskegon Police Chief Jeffrey Lewis.

Police believed that Brown was crying for some time before the girl intervened and may have likely done something to cause the child’s death.

Lewis said that the girl is now a suspect in the case and the primary witness is a 5-year-old child who was in the room at the time.

Police are waiting for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
