Police find dog drinking alcohol after owner was arrested for drunk driving

(Scroll down for video) Police officers were shocked to find a dog drinking alcohol, following a car accident, according to police in Pennsylvania.

Pittsburgh police have arrested 44-year-old Thomas Michael Bloedel, after he crashed his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Bloedel has been charged with DUI, animal cruelty, criminal mischief, careless driving, and making terroristic threats. He was booked into the Allegheny County Jail, pending a bail hearing.

According to the criminal complaint, a driver called police after seeing a car crashing into a pole.

Police officers who arrived at the scene, found that the driver of the crashed vehicle, who was identified as Bloedel, was under the influence of alcohol.

Officers placed Bloedel into a police cruiser, and when they went back to check on the crashed car, they noticed the suspect’s dog drinking alcohol from a bottle of Smirnoff.

The dog has been identified as Maxwell. The dog was transported to an animal hospital, where he was treated overnight for alcohol poisoning.
