Residents are concerned that an animal abuser is on the loose after finding several dead foxes dumped in the streets, according to police in the United Kingdom.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is appealing for information after three dead foxes were found in Staffordshire, in the span of two weeks.

The bodies of the animals have been found in Darnford Lane, Lichfield.

RSPCA inspector Laura Bryant said: “There were no visible injuries on the foxes. However, I am concerned that there is a possibility that they have been poisoned, as it is unusual for there to have been three found in the same area in such a short time without an obvious cause of death.”

The RSPCA said: “We are investigating, and are keen to speak to anyone with first hand knowledge of this so we can look into it further.”

Bryant added: “It is illegal to poison foxes.”
