A former Royal Navy lieutenant of the United Kingdom, lost his life after thieves ran him over with his own car.

35-year-old Michael Samwell and wife Jessica, woke up at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, by a loud noise, police said.

When he went downstairs to investigate, Samwell saw thieves getting into his black Audi S3.

The thieves broke into the couple’s house while they were sleeping upstairs, and they took the keys to the luxury vehicle.

As Michael tried to stop the thieves from driving off with his vehicle, they ran him over.

By the time Jessica and other neighbors who heard the commotion made it outside, Michael was found lying on the road in the parking lot behind his house.

He had suffered serious injuries and died in the hospital.

Police were called and they found the Audi three miles away. The thieves have abandoned it and it had suffered some damage.

Manchester Police have launched a murder investigation into Michael’s death. So far, they have arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
