A thief was seen on video robbing a Family Dollar store after reading his note out loud.

22-year-old Dion Taylor was arrested after police said he walked into the Family Dollar in Youngstown, Ohio, and handed a note to the cashier.

However, his writing was so bad that the store clerk, whom he was trying to rob, was unable read the note that was demanding money.

Police said that Dion Taylor entered the Family Dollar store on Market Street at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, and handed the employee a note.

The cashier said that she could not read the handwriting, and she returned the note to the man and asked him to read it out loud. The thief agreed and he did as he was told.

The note reportedly read: “This is a robbery, please be quiet. Don’t let your pride get you killed.”

The clerk opened the register, and gave Taylor money and a packet of Newport cigarettes.

He then fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Police released a photo of the suspect, which was taken from the store’s surveillance video.

Someone recognized Taylor from the photo and called police, leading to his arrest.
