A wife suffered injuries after jumping out of a moving car to get away from her husband, according to police in Pennsylvania.

Erie police said that motorists called officers to report a woman who was injured and lying on the ground in middle of the road.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday around 9:00 p.m., outside 3616 Holland Street.

According to the police investigation, the husband and wife had an argument while driving. Suddenly, the wife opened the car door and jumped out to avoid arguing with her husband.

Her husband followed her and jumped out as well. The husband forgot to put the car in park, and it began to roll. The open car door then struck the wife, and she fell to the ground.

The husband then ran after the car and managed to stop it before it crashed. The wife was taken to the UPMC Hamot Hospital, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
