The Lorain Police Department said that they have arrested 39-year-old Lemar Reed, after being seen on security surveillance video dropping a bag of cocaine in traffic court.

He was charged with possessing, transporting, and consuming controlled substances. If convicted, Reed could face up to 8 months in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, Reed was pulled over while speeding, and he was found to be driving with a suspended license.

He was issued two summonses, one for speeding and the other for driving with a suspended license. Reed appeared before Lorain Municipal Judge Mark Mihok, where he answered the traffic tickets.

While arguing his case, Reed removed his hat and accidentally dropped a bag of cocaine, which landed on the floor. Despite the crowded courtroom, nobody noticed the bag of cocaine on the floor until an hour later.

A police officer picked up the bag and sent it for testing, which came back positive for cocaine. Police reviewed the security surveillance footage and saw Reed dropping the bag on the floor.

Judge Mihok commented that Reed was very unlucky.

Mihok said that the Reed faced a fine of $1,150 for the speeding and driving under suspension charges, but now faces up to eight months in prison.
