Couple mauled by their son’s pitbull

(Scroll down for video) A couple of Michigan, suffered horrific injuries after they were mauled by their son’s dog.

The couple was seriously injured when her son's pit bull attacked them in Detroit, leaving both parents with what police described as “horrible” injuries.

Roseville police responded to their home at around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, and found 52-year-old Suzette Laughton, covered in blood outside a house in the 30000 block of Normal Street.

Police learned that she was attacked by her 28-year-old son Robert Laughton's dog.

Officers then discovered the woman's 51-year-old boyfriend Michael Mager unconscious in the living room. He was bleeding profusely from his wounds.

Police said that the one-year-old pitbull was extremely aggressive and did not allow emergency crews to get to the man.

They were forced to used a stun gun on the animal in order to remove the victim from the house.

The couple taken to a hospital with bites on their faces and arms, and both have undergone surgeries.

The pitbull and another dog were captured by animal control officers.

Police said that two weeks before the brutal attack, the same pitbull attacked the couple, and they were also hospitalized, but with less severe injuries.

After the first incident, Laughton received two citations, one for harboring a dangerous animal and the second for failure to license his dog.

The son, who was not at home during Sunday's attack was arrested and charged with two counts of owning a dangerous animal causing serious injury.

The dog has since been euthanized.
