An evil stepmother caused the death of her stepson by slamming his head into the ground, according to police in New York.

Syracuse police said that they have arrested 35-year-old Ramisi Truitt, after being accused of killing 2-year-old Shomer Brown.

In court, Truitt pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter.

County Court Judge Stephen Dougherty sentenced Truitt to serve 18 years in prison. She had faced up to 25 years, but the sentence once shortened as part of the plea bargain agreement with prosecutors.

According to the criminal complaint, Truitt gave Shomer a peanut butter sandwich. After Shomer did not say “thank you,” Truitt flew into a rage.

She threw the toddler into the ground, causing multiple skull fractures, brain bleeding, facial fractures and cuts to his forehead, arms and legs.

Shomer later died of his injuries. During questioning, Truitt kept changing her story about what happened to Truitt. At first, she blamed her 3-year-old son for killing Shomer.

Truitt then claimed that the Shomer fell down a flight of stairs.

Truitt’s 15-year-old daughter eventually told investigators that her mother beat the Shomer to death because he did not say “thank you” for a peanut butter sandwich.
