(Scroll down for video) People in Chicago, Illinois, are angry after learning that a police officer who had been caught shoplifting twice, was still on the job.

Chicago Police Department Officer Cherie Hendricks has twice been caught shoplifting items from stores.

In one incident, Hendricks was caught stealing reading glasses and coffee mugs from Walmart. In another incident, she was caught stealing vitamins from Whole Foods.

Despite her criminal conduct, officials at the Chicago Police Department allowed her to stay on the job.

The U.S. Department of Justice investigated the Chicago Police Department, and they found that officers are rarely punished for criminal activities.

Hendricks continues to earn more than $90,000 a year as a Chicago police officer.
