(Scroll down for video) A boy was shocked to be called into the principal’s office, where he was suspended from school because he clicked “like” on a photo appearing on Instagram.

13-year-old Zachary Bowlin of Trenton, Ohio, got suspended for 10 days, following an alleged incident of potentially endangering the health and safety of students.

The boy’s father, Marty Bowlin, said that he could not understand why the school suspended his son just for clicking “like” on a photo of a replica gun.

Zachary said that he was lying in bed in the evening and looking through his social media updates. When he saw a photo of a replica gun that his friend posted on Instagram, he clicked “like.”

The following day, he was immediately summoned to the principal’s office. The boy received a pat down to check for weapons.

He was then issued the suspension notice. The student who posted the photo on Instagram, was also kicked out of school.

Edgewood Middle School Superintendent Russ Fussnecker said that they have a zero tolerance policy for violent, disruptive, harassing, intimidating, bullying, or any other inappropriate behavior.

Fussnecker added that they will continue to take action against students who click “like” on a post that potentially endangers the health and safety of students.
