A soldier who caused outrage after she killed her puppy, committed suicide, according to police in North Carolina.

Friends went to the home of Marinna Rollins, after they were unable to reach her.

The friends called police at 3:00 a.m., after finding Rollins dead in her home. Rollins was due to be in court next week, and animal lovers planned to be outside the court to protest her actions.

As previously reported, police have arrested two soldiers after they uploaded graphic videos of themselves to social media, showing how they were torturing their puppy.

The pair was facing charges for animal cruelty and conspiracy after the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office saw the video, which was uploaded to Facebook.

The video allegedly shows them tying the service dog to a tree and shooting it numerous times with a rifle while laughing.

23-year-old Marinna Rollins of Fayetteville, adopted a therapy dog with her now estranged husband after she was released from the military to deal with her post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Rollins served in the military and was reportedly stationed in South Korea, before she was given a medical discharge.

The dog, a pitbull, which was originally named Huey, was adopted from the Cumberland County Animal Shelter, and the couple renamed it Cam.

However, when her estranged husband was stationed overseas, he said that Rollins begged him to allow her to keep the dog and he agreed.

Rollins then took care of the dog with her boyfriend, 26-year-old soldier Jerren Heng.

Recently, Rollins and Heng decided to get rid of the dog. They wrote on Facebook, that they had a great last day with Cam.

“Great last day with the pooch. Sad he has to go, but he will be much happier where he is heading off,” Rollins wrote.

A friend responded: “I am glad you were able to find a good home.”

To which Heng replied: “He’s gonna have such great new life.”

Sadly, their next post was the video showing the dog tied to a tree and Rollins shooting it multiple times. Her boyfriend was heard asking for a chance to shoot the dog and Rollins agreed.

The couple was heard laughing while shooting the puppy.

After the puppy was shot almost a dozen times, Rollins dragged it and placed it into a shallow grave.

She was heard speaking to the dog and saying: “I love you, you’re my puppy, you’re a good puppy, but.”

A Facebook page was created for the deceased dog. According to the creator, the goal of the page named “Justice For Cam,” is to get justice for the dog.

Many people were disturbed by the content of the video, which was uploaded to the “Justice For Cam” Facebook page. The creator did not want to remove it. Instead, the creator wrote:

“A lot of people are getting upset that this video is posted here.
You do not have to click play and watch, but let me clarify something.

“Marinna Rollins is trying to claim that the dog was sick and suffering, and that she did this out of mercy. The video has been shared to prove otherwise because we don’t want her to get off easy for the crime she committed. This was clearly not mercy. The video are also labeled as graphic!”

Rollins was initially held on $10,000 bail and Heng on $5,000 bail. However, after an outcry by the public, their bail amounts were raised to $25,000 each.

Rollins’ estranged husband said that he is devastated and furious over the dog’s death.
