(Scroll down for video) Two police officers suffered injuries after a stranger walked into the one of the officer’s homes during a party.

New York police Officer Luis Diaz, 43, was celebrating his daughter’s first communion in his home in Queens, when the stranger walked in.

Diaz was playing with the kids downstairs in the basement when 18-year-old Diego Velasco entered the house.

“He simply opened the door and entered the home,” the officer’s wife Ana Diaz said.

The incident unfolded at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ana, who did not know Velasco, ran to get her husband.

When officer Diaz tried to kick the drunk teenager out of his home, he refused to leave and a scuffle ensued.

The teenager then pulled out a knife and stabbed the officer once in the left forearm. He was treated at New Nork-Presbyterian Hospital and was released about three hours later.

When other officers arrived to arrest him, Velasco fought with them, causing an officer to suffer a head injury and a possible concussion.

Velasco was charged with two counts of criminal assault, police said.
