Police in North Carolina, said that two high school students misrepresented themselves to the teacher in question on a social media site.

The students catfished their 51-year-old French teacher by opening a social media account and pretending to be someone else.

Once they were in a “relationship” with the teacher, they asked him to send them a nude photo of himself. When he agreed, they shared the photo with other students.

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office announced that they have arrested Brian Joshua Anderson and Brittney Renee Luckenbaugh, both 16, over the incident.

The Swansboro High School students were charged with misdemeanor private disclosure of images. They were released after posting $5,000 unsecured bond.

The school district said that they have investigated the incident and took appropriate action, but officials did not provide details.

School officials said that they want to review guidelines for the use of social media by staff and students.
