A woman claimed that she killed her husband because he abused her for 46 years, according to police in New York.

Staten Island police said that they have arrested 69-year-old Antoinetta Baldassarre, after being accused of using a crowbar to beat her husband in the head until he died.

In court, Baldassarre has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree in the killing of 80-year-old Frank Baldassarre.

Richmond County District Attorney Michael E. McMahon announced that defendant pleaded guilty before Justice William E. Garnett in Richmond County State Supreme Court.

In exchange for her plea, Baldassarre faces 15 years in prison and five years post release supervision when she is sentenced later this month.

According to the criminal complaint, one day at around 12:00 p.m., the defendant struck Frank multiple times in the head and
body with a crowbar, causing his death.

She put his body in the bathtub, and tied herself up with duct tape to make the scene look like a home invasion.

The defendant then set fire to a vehicle located inside of a detached garage in the yard of 405 Victory Boulevard, causing burning and charring to the car and garage.

Antoinetta claimed that she had suffered physical and mental abuse from her husband for 46 years before she decided to end his life because she had enough.

Neighbors said that they did not know of any problems in the couple’s marriage. Antoinetta had faced up to life in prison on charges of murder and arson.
